Expat Hub is a community of trust which helps its members to exchange and share information as well as to connect with other members. Expat Hub ensures highest standards for the protection of your personal data and your privacy.

Information Collection and Use by Expat Hub
Registration and Personal Information
When you register with us through the Site to become an Expat Hub Member or when you choose to create your own profile webpage we will ask you for personally identifiable information. This refers to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Information”). Personal Information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, telephone number, home and business postal addresses, age, interests, gender, education and occupation. We use your Personal Information to provide the Expat Hub Service and administer your inquiries.
Expat Hub also collects other information that you provide as part of registration and the administration and personalization of your profile webpage (e.g., without limitation, zip code (on its own) and individual preferences) (“Non-Identifying Information”).
We use your Personal Information (in some cases, in conjunction with your Non-Identifying Information) mainly to provide the Expat Hub Service, complete your transactions and administer your inquiries.
Certain Non-Identifying Information would be considered a part of your Personal Information if it were combined with other identifiers (for example, combining your zip code with your street address) in a way that enables you to be identified. But the same pieces of information are considered Non-Identifying Information when they are taken alone or combined only with other non-identifying information (for example, your viewing preferences). We may combine your Personal Information with Non-Identifying Information and aggregate it with information collected from other Expat Hub Users (defined below) to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Expat Hub Service and to analyze and understand how our Site and Expat Hub Service are used. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance to deliver a product to you according to your preferences or restrictions.
We also use your Personal Information to contact you with Expat Hub updates, newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such communications from us, please follow the unsubscribe instructions provided in any of the communications or update your “user preferences” information. (See “Changing or Deleting Information,” below.)
Information about the User’s Contacts
If the User chooses to invite other people to Expat Hub to join his/her network, the names and email addresses of the invitees need to be entered on the ExpatHub.com.au. The names and email addresses of people that are invited will be used by Expat Hub only to send the User’s invitation email (including an optional personal message) and corresponding reminders. Expat Hub stores this information to send the invitation email, to register a contact connection if the User’s invitation is accepted, and to track the success of Expat Hub’ referral program.
The User may also choose to manually enter or upload data about his/her contacts into the private section of the ExpatHub.com.au. All information that the User enters or uploads about his/her contacts will be covered by the same terms of this Privacy Policy as those covering his/her own personally identifiable information.
Website information (including cookies)
We make limited use of cookies on this website. A cookie is a small message given to your web browser by our web server. The browser stores the message, and sends the message back to the server each time you request a page from the server. We only use cookies to tell us when you have set up an account with us previously (i.e. when you are a "registered user" of our website), and sometimes to let us know how you found our website. Where the cookies tell us that you are a registered user, cookies also allow us to automatically link you to your personalised accounts so that you can easily access any products or services only made available to our registered users, without your having to provide us with your username and password on every web page. We will display your Personal Information in your profile page which may be publicly available on the Site and elsewhere on the Site according to the preferences you set in your account. Any information you choose to provide should reflect how much you want other Expat Hub Users to know about you. We recommend that you guard your anonymity and sensitive information and we encourage Expat Hub Members to think carefully about what information about themselves they disclose in their profile pages. You can review and revise your profile information at any time. Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post information to Articles, Bogs, Messages, Classifieds or any other public online forums that information can be accessed by the public and can then be used to send you unsolicited communications.
Service Providers
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Expat Hub Service, to provide the Expat Hub Service on our behalf, to perform Site-related services (e.g., without limitation, maintenance services, database management, web analytics and improvement of the Site’s features) or to assist us in analyzing how our Site and Expat Hub Service are used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement
Expat Hub cooperates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of Expat Hub or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, any illegal, unethical or legally actionable activity.
Business Transfers
Expat Hub may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.
Expat Hub will notify you before transferring your information to a new entity as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of some or all of its assets if the new entity's processing of your information will materially differ from that set forth in this Privacy Policy.
Newsletters, Emails, and Notifications to Users
Expat Hub regularly sends out newsletters, service-related announcements, or other notification messages and emails (alltogther "Member Communication") to all Users of Expat Hub. Through this Member Communication Expat Hub informs the User, among other things, about new features, changes in his/her network or local community, invitation requests, and new messages. Expat Hub may also provide the User with specific personal statistics.
As part of the Member Communication, Expat Hub may present new Users of Expat Hub to the User. It may also be the case that Expat Hub presents the User as a possible contact to other Users of Expat Hub. Finally, Expat Hub may inform the User about random Users of InterNations who have visited the User’s profile. Of course, this may also apply to the User vice versa, i.e., the User may be one of those random Users with regard to another User of Expat Hub whose profile the User has visited.
Generally, the User may opt out of such Member Communication through his/her individual personal settings, though Expat Hub reserves the right to send the User notices about his/her account even if the User opts out of all voluntary forms of the Member Communication.
How do we protect your information
Expat Hub is very concerned with safeguarding your information. We use reasonable physical, technological, and administrative security measures to protect Member information and attempt to ensure they are applicable under the circumstances. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We will make any legally required disclosures of any breach of the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored “personal data” (as defined in applicable state statutes on security breach notification) to you via email or conspicuous posting on this Site in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, insofar as consistent with (i) the legitimate needs of law enforcement or (ii) any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the data system. Protecting children’s privacy
We strongly believes in protecting the privacy of children. In line with this belief, we do not knowingly collect or maintain Personally Identifiable Information on our Website from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of our Website is directed to persons under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use or access this Website at any time or in any manner. We will take appropriate steps to delete any Personally Identifiable Information of persons less than 13 years of age that has been collected on our Website without verified parental consent upon learning of the existence of such Personally Identifiable Information.

Correcting/Updating or Removing Information
All Expat Hub Members may review, update, modify or remove any of their Personal Information in their profile page at any time by logging into their Account and accessing features such as Edit Profile and Account Info. If you completely delete all such information, then your Account may become deactivated. If you would like us to delete your record in our system, please contact us at info@expathub.com.au a request that we delete your Personal Information from our database. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request. We may retain an archived copy of your records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
